Welcome!

Welcome to our school website where we hope you will enjoy finding out all about us and that the information provided will answer any questions you may have.  We warmly encourage pre-arranged visits so that you can experience first-hand the welcoming environment provided by staff and pupils.  Alternatively, you can contact the school office on 01449 781367 or by email – admin@bacton-pri.suffolk.sch.uk

We are all very proud of our school here at Bacton Primary! Step inside the doors and you will find a caring atmosphere where children learn confidently in happy surroundings and where everyone is encouraged to do their best in order to reach their potential. Our school is a place where mutual respect is encouraged, having-a-go is part of every day school life, every child is viewed as an individual, lessons are designed to be fun and engaging and opportunities for challenge are provided.

Bacton Primary School is a one-form entry primary school located about seven miles from the town of Stowmarket, Suffolk. We are very proud to be a founding school of The John Milton Academy Trust – a four school multi-academy trust opened in September 2016.  Our partnership schools are Cedars Park Primary, Mendlesham Primary and Stowupland High School.

Here at Bacton Primary, we have 7 classes ranging from Reception to Year 6. Our original school building is Victorian in origin and has undergone major improvements and extensions in more recent years.  In addition to the seven classrooms, we have a fully stocked library (including laptops and iPads), a multi-purpose hall, changing rooms and our ‘rainbow room’ which is used for small groups working together.  Our enviable outside space includes a hard court playground with wooden climbing structure, an astro-turf area, our extensive meadow and our courtyard playground.  There is a range of games and equipment for the children to use at playtimes and lunchtimes in these areas. We have a beautiful wooded area where the children can enjoy natural shade in the summer months and our Early Years outdoor area is an engaging and stimulating learning area for our youngest children to explore the world around them.

Our aim at Bacton Primary is to prepare each of our pupils with the skills, attitudes and abilities for later life and we hope that their time with us will not only enable them to achieve high academic standards but also provide them with a wealth of happy memories to take with them on their journey.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or queries.

With best wishes,

Mrs G Cook
