Welcome to Year 4 from class teacher Miss Proctor

This half term's topic is 'Ancient Egypt'. Through this topic, we will be exploring what life was like in ancient Egyptian times. In English, we will be writing stories based in ancient Egypt. In maths, we will be exploring place value, calulation, multiplication and division, fractions, shape and measures. In DT, we will be researching, planning, making and evaluating a canopic jar.

This week in Year 4

This week in Year 4-

Design Technology Learning Week

This week, we will be researching ancient Egyptian food and working to create a 'feast fit for a fussy pharoah', using research to design and plan, make, test and evaluate our product.

By the end of Year 4, children are expected to know all of their times tables, from 1 to 12, off by heart. Please practise these as much as possible at home. Many thanks.

PiXL Timestable App

The PiXL Timestable App is a free app that can be downloaded on any tablet, phone or computer. It allows children to practise their timestables to increase fluency.

Your child has a personalised log-in (in homework books or reading diaries) to access the app. Please note that the app is case sensitive so please ensure that you enter passwords in correctly, ensuring use of uppercase and lowercase letters as per the password given.

Please encourage your child to use the app as much as possible.

Many thanks
