Welcome to Year 6 from class teacher Mrs Clarke!

Spring term's topic is War & Reconciliation.

We will be learning about wars around the world including WW1, WW2 and the Northern Ireland Troubles -focusing especially on how the wars were reconciled and the new laws and rules which were imposed as a result. We will delve into the role of the United Nations and gain an understanding of refugees from past and present around the world.

Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse and a mixture of other war related books will be our reading focus in the first part of the Spring term. We will be using The Piano—a video animation as inspiration for writing a narrative with flashbacks.
